The Experimenting Spot
Try these out and send more in
Marlow loves conducting scientific experiments. If you do too, you’re in the right spot. Come and join the fun!
This activity has been validated by the Children’s University Australasia. Participants who try out one of these experiments or submit an experiment of their own, can receive a 1-hour stamp in their Passports to Learning. (See below for further instructions.)
- Will your experiment appear here?
A Note to Young Scientists:
I’m always on the look out for more, so if you have a favourite experiment you’d like to contribute, please send it in. I’ll try it out myself (or get one of my testers to) and if it’s perfect for sharing, I’ll add it to the list for others to try with your name next to the instructions as the contributing scientist.
If you are doing any of the activities in The Experimenting Spot for the Children’s University please make sure you have adult supervision. (And even if you’re not with the Children’s University, I highly recommend adult supervision anyway!)
Further Instructions for CU members:
There are two ways you can earn a 1-hour stamp in your Passport to Learning.
1. Trying out an experiment: Try out any one of the experiments in the experimenting spot, then put your results in the comment box at the bottom of that particular experiment’s page. Once I have replied, take a screen shot of the page and show this to your in-school coordinator along with a photo of you doing the experiment.
2. Submitting an experiment: After submitting your experiment by contacting me here, show a copy to your in-school coordinator. Don’t forget to include my reply and details of the experiment, including instructions and images.
