The date is set for the launch of Marlow Brown: Magician in the Making and you’re invited!
Please join me on Saturday 10th July at 3.30pm at The Houdini Theatre in Melbourne to help celebrate the launch of the second Marlow Brown book at the Melbourne Magic Festival.
The Melbourne Magic Festival is the biggest event of its kind in the Southern hemisphere and I’m super excited that plans for a launch here have all come together. The launch is a free, family-friendly event and promises to be lots of fun.
It’s a combined event with the 2021 Melbourne Magic Festival Awards and will include some magical performances and, of course, the launch itself.
Melbourne magician Lee Cohen, a trailblazer for women in magic, will be compering the event and launching the book. Given Marlow Brown is a girl who pursues her interests with gusto and without a thought for gender stereotypes, I can’t think of a more perfect person to do the job. (Actually, there’s a fascinating article about women in magic here which is worth the read if you’re interested.)
Further details for the launch are still in the planning, but knowing how quickly things book out at the moment, I wanted to give you all the heads up, so you can book early. Here are the details:

Bring along as many friends and family members as you like – be they lovers of children’s books, lovers of magic, magicians in the making or fans of Marlow Brown. All are welcome! You might even like to make an afternoon of it and go to one of the magic shows immediately preceding the launch at the same venue. (Magic Festival link here.) What better way to end the school holidays than with a sprinkling of magic?
There will, of course, be the opportunity to buy a copy of the book and have it signed on the day. Alternatively, you could get a copy ahead of the event (release date is June 1st and it’s available for pre-order now) and bring it along with you if you’d like it signed.
