I’m excited to announce that my first book, Marlow Brown: Scientist in the Making, will be released on October 1st by Celapene Press.

This is the first in a planned chapter book series for ages 7-10, with illustrations by Melbourne artist, Marjory Gardner.

Marlow Brown dreams of being a scientist, but when her chaotic home experiments drive Mum crazy, Marlow runs the risk of being banned from experimenting altogether. Surely there must be something she can do to keep on Mum’s good side while still continuing to follow her dream…

Marlow is one of those kids who loves to try things out.

In this first book she is wowed by science and it’s her eccentric Uncle Quentin who is her inspiration. She decides she wants to be just like him (minus the beard, of course). Perhaps in time (like by the end of the book), Marlow herself will be the one to inspire others to give science a go.

There’s actually a ‘Try It Yourself’ section at the back, with nice clear instructions (in case you’re the care-giver reading this and you’re starting to worry, like Marlow’s mum, about the potential mess factor.)

If you’d like to be kept posted about launch dates and other such things, please sign up to my mailing list here, keep an eye out for new posts on this website, or follow me on social media. I’d be delighted to connect with you.
